Under the ambit of the National Green Hydrogen Mission, the Hydrocarbon Sector Skill Council (HSSC), in collaboration with HPCL Visakhapatnam Refinery, successfully organized a 3-day Green Hydrogen Training Program for Plant Supervisors from June 10 to 12, 2025. Attended by 48 participants, the program aimed to build industry capacity through expert-led sessions on green hydrogen production technologies, global and national hydrogen policies, applications across sectors, and safety protocols. Delivered by professionals from HPCL, NTPC, Waaree Group, and CHT, the training featured a balanced mix of technical presentations, interactive discussions, case studies, and hands-on exposure through a site visit to HPCL’s Green Hydrogen Plant. Assessment and certification were conducted under NCVET guidelines, with participants showing marked improvement in post-training evaluations. This initiative underscores HSSC’s commitment to skilling the oil & gas workforce for a sustainable and low-carbon future.
The Hydrocarbon Sector Skill Council (HSSC), in collaboration with the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee, launched a transformative 4-day Green Hydrogen Training Program from March 1st to 4th, 2025, at the IIT Roorkee campus. This initiative, conducted under the PMKVY 4.0 scheme, aims to accelerate India’s clean energy transition by nurturing a skilled workforce in the green hydrogen sector.
The event was graced by Dr. Ranjit Kumar Sinha, IAS, Secretary of Technical Education, Government of Uttarakhand, as the Chief Guest. Prof. K.K. Pant, Director of IIT Roorkee, also honored the occasion with his presence.
Marking a significant step towards advancing India’s green energy ambitions, the program featured insightful sessions led by renowned industry leaders and academic experts, including Shri Abhay Bakre, Mission Director of the National Green Hydrogen Mission at the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), and Dr. R.K. Malhotra, President of the Hydrogen Association of India.

HSSC conducted a Green Hydrogen Workshop at the Indian Oil Corporation Ltd (IOCL) Pipeline Division (Head Office), Noida. This initiative aimed to foster awareness, skill development, and technical knowledge in the rapidly growing domain of green hydrogen.
